I bought a used 97 with 260 miles on it for $2700. Didn't need to worry about any warranty. My SO works on the bikes whenever he can (oil changes etc. but has learned more the more we do on our bikes). This forum has helped out alot. We have a two car garage (I think that's why he was attracted to me, I came with the garage). He has numerous bikes. Presently we cannot park the cars in the garage because there are so many bikes (we are storing my daughters also) and he's working on another.
Be happy you could get out on your bike now. The snow banks at the end of my driveway are still 6 feet high. I can barely see the pickups when I'm backing out of my driveway. They definitely won't see me on the bike. My SO was run off the road yesterday in the pickup because someone wasn't paying attention. I think we'll wait a little longer. I'm paying bike insurance for the whole year and I won't even be able to ride 6 months this year.
Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!
